2022 New Sounds of Taiwan+

Last May, the “2021 New Sounds of Taiwan” series was canceled due to the unexpected pandemic. The series were orchestrated by the Ju Percussion Group, which brought together hundreds of musicians to demonstrate the unity of Taiwan’s percussion community. However, the musicians were determined to keep their promise. This May, the series will elevate to become the “2022 New Sounds of Taiwan+”, which consists of three performances. Ju Percussion Group’s special performance “Beating the Instant”, will not only feature contemporary percussion classics, but also bring together the acclaimed artist Tong, Yang-Tze (董陽孜); composer Lai, Deh-Ho (賴德和); and multimedia artist Chou, Tung-Yen (周東彥); to demonstrate the immediate echo between percussion and multimedia. The “Percussion Virtuoso Gathering” has invited eight groups of outstanding Taiwanese percussionists to perform eight ingenious pieces of works. The “100 Marimba Orchestra”, which has been eagerly anticipated since last year, will be conducted by three veteran percussionists, Ju, Tzong-Ching (朱宗慶); Lien, Ya-Wen (連雅文); and Hsu, Bor-Nien (徐伯年); connecting the sincere sensations of 100 Taiwanese percussionists, and bringing back the magnificent stage performance. Together, We are Stronger !
