Marimba Concerto No.3  “Notre-Dame de Paris”

Tugging at heartstrings: Six mallets tell a poignant story

Based on Victor Hugo’s novel Notre-Dame de Paris, the three movements separately depict these classic characters. The marimba solo with six mallets and dazzling symphony orchestra relate a sad and touching love story with flawless musical and theatrical artistry.

Spices, Perfumes, Toxins! 1st Mov.

Soul shock: classical music with an exotic twist

Set against a backdrop of classical music, this dual marimba and darbuka percussion piece exudes exotic flavors with variations in tempo and volume that delude and jolt the soul.

The Glory and the Grandeur

Magnificent momentum: a powerful musical sound surges like a tidal wave

Three sets of percussion instruments are placed in front of the symphony orchestra, with three percussionists shuttling back and forth beating the various marimbas and drums to create layer upon layer and wave after wave of glorious sound that plays off the orchestra and stuns the senses.

Beats and pieces: experience the creativity and fun of music in everyday objects

Metal cans, glass bottles and plastic buckets are repurposed as musical instruments. Banging and blowing these creates unexpected rhythms, underlining the ubiquity, fun and creativity of music in life.
